We Take Safety Very Seriously

In executing all jobs, our main objectives are to operate in the safest and economic manner, by ensuring that all statute and the other relevant regulations relating to safety and welfare are met. In doing this, the healt and safety of our employees and others, who may be affected in the course of the works, are paramount.

MBOHO WORKS AND STEVENDORES LTD also, view with great concern, the ecological implications of her job, that is to say, the impact of the job on the immediate surroundings, in order to prevent accidents. Proper attitude to safety rules are encouraged in all the employees and subcontractors.

Our overall objective is accident prevention which could otherwise result in pains, disabilities, damage to property (Plant & Equipment), death, as well as damage to animal life within the environment in which we operate.

Thus, our health safety and environment program are designed to archieve the following:

1. Sustain management commitments to health, safety and environment protection.
2. Increase the level of awareness among all employees.
3. Provide health and safety safe working conditions for all employees.

The Company’s policy statement has been split into three major sub-headings based on these categories: Health Policy, Safety Policy and Environment Policy.

HEALTH POLICY

MBOHO WORKS AND STEVENDORES LTD is responsible for the health of her employees and will therefore conduct an active policy to attain this. The objective of this policy is to reduce or limit as much as possible risks that can result in injury, sickness, death, property damage or other forms of loss.

It is necessary that early recognition of healt hazard is established, assessed and brought under control. The Company therefore maintains the services of good clinics to take care of the workers.

Much emphasis is placed on the promotion of the total health concept and protection of the workers.

SAFETY POLICY

It is the policy of our Company to carry out our activities in such a way that the life of all our employees and the people who may be connected with our operations are safeguarded. The company makes adequate provisions of personal Protective Equipment and insists on adherence tosafety precautions necessary for operational work site. To maintain high safety standards in all her operations, the company conscientiously educates her HSE policy through series of enlightenment programmes.

There is reward in the form of prizes and promotion for excellence in achieving the set safety standards and negative attitudes are reprimanded and corrected.

In order to ensure a high safety standard, the following strategies are adopted:

1. The continuous identification of likely causes of accident inherent in any job.
2. The control of cause “1” above.
3. The minimization of accident losses.

ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY

Every employee of MBOHO WORKS AND STEVENDORES LTD is expected to live in a healthy and an acceptable atmosphere both at home and at work, he must operate within the statutory requirement of Federal Environment Protection Agency (FEPA).

In recent years, the Federal Government of Nigeria has shown a more than ordinary interest in the protection/preservation of the environment. The government directed monthly environmental sanitation is already a nationwide exercise aimed at ensuring a clean and healthy environment for the citizenry.

MBOHO WORKS AND STEVENDORES LTD is similarly committed to ensuring clean and healthy environment especially in the courses of work. Environmental sanitation program must be a serious issue in our ventilation. Humidity and efforts of temperature extremes.

Serious efforts must be geared towards minimization of dust released during the course of work, use and disposal of injurious chemicals should be structured. Efforts are to be made towards reducing noise and fumes generated during operations.
